e borrowed this line from Dante Alighieri, to introduce ItaliaLibri. Our purpose is to review the largest number of italian literary works and biographies of italian authors, from the year 1200 up to date. We address anybody in the world with Italian feelings, either by origin or choice or by plain love.
Why the Italian language? Everybody will unquestionably agree that the Italian language is probably the highest achievement that the Italian culture has ever produced.
Our aim is to bring the Italian language to all: scholars, teachers, students or fans. To do this we review the best literary pages and the biographies of the most important writers. We deliver them online for an open discussion with our visitors.
To keep in touch with various realities operating within ItaliaLibri and around it, we publish a free electronic newsletter, posting all the news relating to this site or concerning the Italian speaking literary world in general.
Last but not least, ItaliaLibri lists a schedule of the most relevant international events, relating to the Italian literature and culture, that take place around the planet.
All the organizations and the cultural and linguistic associations that wish to appear can e-mail us (
) their event planning. All dates relating to the Italian literature and language will be added to this schedule.
December 23rd, 2010
Eleventh anniversary of the founding of ItaliaLibri
Starting September 2003 ItaliaLibri has launched the «Org.» Association (ORG stands for «L'Opera Riunisce le Genti», meaning "the art reunites the people").
ItaliaLibri invites everybody to share opinions and feelings. It will be a sort of collective reading, a meeting point between remotely located people, maybe, but intimately close friends, actually.
(ItaliaLibri® is the volunteered operation of private subjects, not dependent on any organization or political party. Its mission is to divulge the literature, the language and the Italian culture at large. Moreover, ItaliaLibri is receptive to the issues related to contemporary ethics and to the instances raised by International Institutions like the United Nations and the European Union).
